Celebrating the culture, language and local traditions, Lu Festin de Nissa (Nice Folklore Festival) takes place at the Jardins de Cimiez in May. These gardens also boast Roman ruins and the Museum of Matisse. The women in the dance troupe wear traditional dress in designs typical of Provence – the inspiration for some of our tablecloths!
Nice is a vintage lover’s paradise, with a regular brocante market held in Place Garibaldi on the third Saturday of the month. A stroll round the town’s old quarter will also reveal retro and shabby chic treasures on almost every corner.
The delightful Marche Provencal on Cours Massena in old Antibes is everything you expect from a traditional French market. With stalls groaning under the weight of fresh fruit and vegetables and lots of local specialties including freshly made socca from a mobile wood oven, this really is a foodie paradise!
